March 26 Sold!What a weekend, things are moving so fast at the moment. This weekend gone and this coming week are such big weeks for Olivia and I. Here is the run down in point form!

August 23 Picked up our house plansYesterday afternoon after finishing up out on site I took the opportunity to pick up our house plans that have been in at the architect for about a month. We're both really happy with the plans, its a big house and hopefully will be a great house for rising children in a few years time (notice I mention a few years time). But its a great house and i'm really starting to get excited about some of the technology that I hope to include within the structure of the house. I've been taking a look at the IP camera's recently and I love some of the feautres around remote management and image captures.
Now we have the plans though I am going to begin looking into exact technology a little more. March 28 What am I really Paying for?Since Olivia and I are currently going through the process of designing and building a house I am always interested in any article I find on housing. Browsing through News.com.au this morning I found this article on the price of building a house. It apears that quite a lot of the money that I spend on my house goes on taxes to the government in place of my house being subsidised!
Now I am sure that the government is very worried about the decline in the building industry, as it is when the building indusrty falls then it's a sure sign the econmy is heading for a down turn. So why would the government hit home builders so much? If you buy an existing house do you get hit as much? Now I am a little biased here since I am building a house but the government would be better to subsidise me putting in better infrastructure into my new house rather than slugging me with the cost of building the house. In other words what's going to happen when your average family can no longer afford the 'great australian dream?' cause that is where we are currently heading!
March 12 Getting into the DesignOther than playing way too much World of Warcraft (Fantastic Addictive Game) I have really been getting into the design of our smarthouse technology, that is going into our new place. At the moment I have begun research and design into the following areas:
